Sidhu Moosewala murder case: Balkaur Singh breaks down during hearing, says wants to see his son’s killers face-to-face
Taking cognizance of request, court directs jail authorities to ensure that all accused are physically produced before court on September 26
PTC Web Desk: In a poignant moment during the hearing of the Sidhu Moosewala murder case at the Mansa court on Friday, the late singer’s father, Balkaur Singh, broke down emotionally as he appealed for the accused to be produced in person at the next hearing instead of via video conferencing.
During the proceedings, the accused were presented through a video link. The late singer's father told the court that due to his weak eyesight, he is unable to clearly identify the individuals on the screen and wished to see his son’s alleged killers face-to-face. His heartfelt plea moved both the court and those present in the courtroom.
Taking cognizance of the request, the court directed the jail authorities to ensure that all accused are physically produced before the court on the next hearing, scheduled for September 26.
Sidhu Moosewala, a celebrated Punjabi singer and Congress leader, was shot dead on May 29, 2022, in Mansa district. The murder was claimed by gangster Lawrence Bishnoi and Canada-based gangster Goldy Brar’s network. Over 30 individuals have been named as accused in the case, which is currently under trial at the Mansa court.
For nearly three years, Balkaur Singh has been persistently seeking justice for his son. Speaking outside the court earlier, he reiterated that he will not rest until every accused involved in his son’s killing is punished.
