Salman Khan takes off t-shirt on Big Boss 20, calls out post-pregnancy body-shaming

PTC News Desk: Salman Khan appeared angry and upset over the growing culture of social media trolling during the latest Weekend Ka Vaar episode of Bigg Boss 20. Talking about the trolling he has faced, Salman removed his T-shirt and showed off his physique, challenging trolls to say whatever they wanted.
After the contestants gave him a standing ovation, Salman issued a strong warning to people who troll others online.
Salman criticised the language and used the incident to speak more broadly about online trolling.
“Kisi ko neecha dikha ke aap paise kama rahe hain” (you are making money by putting someone down), he said, adding that targeting people over their appearance, weight, family, career setbacks and personal milestones only reveals the troll's upbringing. “Aap apni upbringing dikha rahe ho” (you are only showing your upbringing), he added.

Salman also criticised parts of the film industry and media while speaking about online trolling. He alleged that some actors use paid campaigns to spread negative content about their competitors. He also said celebrities are sometimes pressured to speak on political issues.
Salman said he knows who trolls him because his team keeps track of different fan clubs and their activities. However, he said they choose not to respond.
He alleged that some people make money by targeting celebrities and claimed that certain actors or producers may support such campaigns by paying for them. Salman also questioned the ethics of giving paid ratings to films.

Salman also spoke about the scrutiny women face over their bodies after pregnancy.
Although Salman did not name anyone, his comments came amid recent trolling faced by his longtime friend and co-star Katrina Kaif.
Katrina was recently criticised on social media over her appearance and alleged weight gain after she attended Ganpati celebrations in Mumbai. The actor recently became a mother, and her appearance led to comments about her postpartum body.
