Amritsar: Army Man murders a 2-year-old girl
The Amritsar rural police on Wednesday arrested an army man for killing his 2-year-old sister in law. The victim identified as Punitha, of Madurai district in Tamil Nadu was killed on Tuesday in Beas Army Cantonment area.

The accused Pandiya Rajan slit her throat under the influence of alcohol. His wife, China Thai, told the media that she got married to the accused nearly three years ago. She brought her two-year-old sister for her better upbringing. The relations between the accused and his wife were not good as he was a heavy drinker. He also used to assault her frequently.

On Tuesday night, the accused asked his wife to make some snacks for him. The accused found the taste ‘inappropriate’ and starting thrashing her. She went to call the neighbours, but by the time she returned, the accused had slit the throat of the little girl. She was rushed to Army hospital, where she was declared brought dead.

The police has arrested the accused has registered a case under Section 302 of the IPC.
