British PM Boris Johnson meets Gautam Adani in Ahmedabad

Ahmedabad (Gujarat), April 21: British Prime Minister Boris Johnson, who is on a two-day visit to India, met Adani Group Chairman Gautam Adani on Thursday. "Honoured to host @BorisJohnson, the first UK PM to visit Gujarat, at Adani HQ. Delighted to support climate & sustainability agenda with a focus on renewables, green H2 & new energy. Will also work with UK companies to co-create defence & aerospace technologies," a tweet by Adani read. PM Johnson landed in Gujarat earlier on Thursday for his two-day India visit. He was accorded a grand welcome at the airport in Ahmedabad by Gujarat Chief Minister. During his visit, Johnson also visited Sabarmati Ashram. 'Guide to London', one of the first few books written by Mahatma Gandhi which never got published and 'The Spirit's Pilgrimage', the autobiography of Madeleine Slade or Mirabehn who became Mahatma Gandhi's disciple will also be gifted to the British PM by Sabarmati Ashram. Boris Johnson meets Gautam Adani This is the first visit by a British Prime Minister to Gujarat, India's fifth-largest state and ancestral home of about half of the UK's British-Indian community. Johnson will announce a slew of business deals and undertake bilateral talks with Indian officials, with an emphasis on the UK-India trade, investment, and technology partnership. According to the BHC, the UK and Indian businesses will confirm more than £1 billion in new investments and export deals today in industries ranging from software engineering to health, creating around 11,000 jobs across the UK.
