"This is the last election not only for the present CM Amarinder Singh but also for his party. Like S S Ray in West Bengal, Amarinder's ineptitude for and total disinterest in working for the people and his arrogance and penchant for leisure and pleasure culture have already driven the last nail in the Congress coffin here. SAD and the people of Punjab are merely going to perform the last rites for the dead body called INC," said Mr Badal adding that the SAD BJP alliance is poised to sweep all 14 seats in Punjab and Chandigarh." Mr Badal also addressed members of the Sangrur Bar Council where he appealed to the intellectual fraternity in the state to se through the Congress government’s tactics of distracting people's attention from the real issues being faced by the common man in the state. "The Congress govt is deliberately prolonging inquiries into emotional issues because they dont want people to question them on their government’s non -performance and absolute absence of good governance. "The Congress government has gone back on each and every promise which Amarinder had made to the people under a sacred oath. Now they are using alibis like lack of funds”he said Mr Badal said that empty coffers was just a fig leaf to cover Congress inefficiency and lack of political will to do anything for the people. He said the fact was that neither Amarinder nor any member of his cabinet had any time for the people. "Coffers could go empty only if they either reduce or stop collecting taxes or they give massive new social welfare initiatives and development projects. But they have stopped all development and welfare programs started and run by SAD-BJP govt for ten years.  We never complained about empty coffers because it is not coffers but this government’s ability and will which is absent, said Mr Badal.
