India's COVID-19 recovery rate reaches 70 percent

Coronavirus India Cases Today: India reported a single-day spike of 60,963 coronavirus cases and 834 deaths in the last 24 hours, as of Wednesday morning. A total of 56,110 COVID patients in India were declared cured and discharged in the last 24 hours. The total number of coronavirus cases in India has increased to 23,29,639 out of which 6,43,948 are active cases, 16,39,600 have been cured and discharged while 46,091 have died due to the pandemic, the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare said on Wednesday. According to the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR), 2,60,15,297 samples have been tested up to August 11, 2020, for coronavirus out of which 7,33,449 samples were tested on Tuesday. The coronavirus cases have been rising in the country ever since the government of India announced relaxations in the restrictions imposed during the lockdown. India is currently on the third spot in terms of the countries affected by the novel coronavirus. In the meanwhile, the Russian president Vladimir Putin has launched the country's first coronavirus vaccine named 'Sputnik V' which is touted as the world's first coronavirus vaccine. In fact, the Russian President announced that his daughter has been vaccinated. The US is on the top with 5,305,957 numbers of confirmed cases while Brazil is on the second spot with 3,112,393 cases. -PTC News
