Coronavirus: India reports 53,256 new cases in last 24 hours; lowest in 88 days
Coronavirus India Updates: The daily COVID-19 recoveries in India continue to outnumber the daily new cases for the 39th consecutive day on Monday, June 21.
As per the coronavirus updates by the Union Health Ministry, India reported 53,256 new COVID-19 cases (lowest in 88 days), 78,190 discharges, and 1,422 deaths in the last 24 hours.

With this, the total number of coronavirus cases has increased to 2,99,35,221 while the total discharges have gone up to 2,88,44,199.

The death toll in the country has reached 3,88,135 and the active cases stood at 7,02,887. A total of 28,00,36,898 people have been vaccinated so far.
According to the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR), a total of 39,24,07,782 samples have been tested for COVID-19, up to June 20, 2021. Of these, 13,88,699 samples were tested on Sunday.
India has reports 53,256 new cases in the last 24 hours which is the lowest in 88 days. With the latest updates, the recovery rate in India has increased to 96.36 percent while the weekly positivity rate remains below 5 percent, currently at 3.32 percent.
The daily positivity rate is at 3.83 percent, less than 5 percent for 14 consecutive days.
