Coronavirus: India records over 2.5 lakh COVID-19 cases yet again, record rise in deaths

Coronavirus India Updates: India on Tuesday recorded 2,59,170 new COVID-19 cases, 1,761 deaths, and 1,54,761 discharges in the last 24 hours, according to the Union Health Ministry data. The total number of coronavirus cases in India has increased to 1,53,21,089 while the recoveries have gone up to 1,31,08,582. The death toll in the country has increased to 1,80,530 and the Active cases in the nation stand at 20,31,977, the Health Ministry stated while giving coronavirus updates about India. Coronavirus India Updates: India recorded 2,59,170 new COVID-19 cases, 1,761 deaths, and 1,54,761 discharges in the last 24 hours. As of now, a total of 12,71,29,113 people have been administered the COVID-19 vaccine. According to the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR), as many as 26,94,14,035 samples have been tested across the country up till April 19 including 15,19,486 samples tested on Monday. India witnessed a daily spike of more than 2.5 lakh new COVID-19 cases for the second consecutive day. Besides, India recorded its biggest-ever single-day spike in Covid deaths. Coronavirus Punjab The total number of coronavirus cases in Punjab has increased to 3,04,660 after 4,653 new COVID-19 cases were reported from the state in 24 hours.
