The total number of coronavirus cases in Punjab has increased to 5,668 after 101 new cases of COVID-19 were reported in the last 24 hours, as of Wednesday evening. The death toll in the state has increased to 149 after 5 new deaths were reported from the state. Gurdaspur, Amritsar, Tarn Taran, Mohali, and Ludhiana reported one new death each.
According to the media bulletin issued by the Punjab Health Department, Amritsar reported 17 new cases of coronavirus while 41 new cases were reported from Ludhiana. Jalandhar reported 9 new cases while Mohali, Hoshiarpur and Moga reported 5 new cases of coronavirus each. Fazilka reported 4 new cases while Patiala, Gurdaspur and Faridkot reported 3 new cases each.
A total of 122 patients were declared cured and discharged in the last 24 hours. Of 122, 78 were from Sangrur, 32 from Muktsarand 12 from Barnala.
Currently, Amritsar is on the top of the tally with 928 cases of coronavirus followed by
Ludhiana at 880, Jalandhar at 743, and Sangrur at 492. Patiala has reported 332 cases of coronavirus while Mohali has reported 271 cases of COVID-19.
Gurdaspur tally has increased to 224 while Pathankot has 221 cases. Meanwhile, the
Coronavirus tally of Tarn Taran has increased to 196 while the number of coronavirus cases in Hoshiarpur has spiked to 183. The coronavirus tally in SBS Nagar stands at 141, Muktsar at 127, Fatehgarh Sahib at 120, Faridkot and Ropar at 108 and Moga at 107.
