Days after the reopening of schools for all classes in Punjab, Covid-19 scare has gripped Government Senior Secondary School, Talwandi Sabo, in Bathinda district. As per the directions issued by the authorities recently, the school management took the samples of as many as 74 students, out of which the report of a Class 12 student came as Covid positive. It has spread fear among teachers, students and other staff members at a time when a possible third wave threat looms large. The school management has quarantined the entire class for 14 days. In Ludhiana, 13 students were from Government High School, Kailash Nagar, while eight were from Government Senior Secondary School, Basti Jodhewal. Three students of Government Senior Secondary Boys Smart School in Abohar and one in Amritsar were also found infected. Two students from Government Senior Secondary School, Saroya, in Nawanshahr, too, tested positive. The school would remain closed for 14 days. If teachers/parents found any child sick, they must get him/her tested so that a third wave could be prevented.
