Criminals like Mukhtiar Ansari are safe in Punjab, not elected MLA: Ashwani Sharma
Attack on Arun Narang: A high-level delegation of BJP leaders led by state President Ashwani Sharma called on the Punjab Governor demanding immediate dismissal of the Punjab government in failing to protect its citizens and elected MLA’s.
Dubbing the incident of attack on Arun Narang at Maulot, Ashwani Sharma said that never in the history of electoral politics has such an unfortunate incident taken place.

This was ugly politics and no human being from the opposition would condone it, he said, adding that the Congress party was responsible for the act and was indulging in politics of pettiness.
In a press conference after submitting the Memorandum to the Punjab Governor, Sharma said that BJP was a party which faced MESA in emergency and did not buckle down to the Congress.

"Again it faced many dire challenges during militancy and came out of it with dignity and self respect," he added.
Furthermore, he said that “the Congress party should be under no illusion that it can cover our voice of dissent. We will not be intimidated and our voice cannot be muffled. The forces which want to destroy the peace, harmony and bhaichara between Hindu and Sikhs would be defeated."
Adding, he said that criminals like Mukhtiar Ansari were safe in Punjab and not elected MLA.
"We are Punjabis and BJP will work overtime to ensure that disharmony will never prevail. We want peace and prosperity," he said. At the same time, however, we will not let nefarious designs of the Congress party succeed, said the BJP state President.
