IPL 2021: Delhi Capitals' fast Anrich Nortje, one of the most successful bowlers in the Indian Premier League (IPL), has tested positive for the novel coronavirus.

Recently, Anrich Nortje flew to India from South Africa after a bilateral series against Pakistan. He was serving quarantine. Meanwhile, Kagiso Rabada had also returned from South Africa along with Nortje.

According to the sources, the pacer has tested positive while undergoing quarantine. It revealed that he came in with a negative report, however, he, unfortunately, tested positive while undergoing quarantine.

Anrich Nortje is the second Delhi Capitals player to have tested positive for the novel coronavirus. Earlier, Axar Patel had tested positive for COVID-19.

It may be recalled that the Delhi Capitals won its opening match of IPL 2021 against the Chennai Super Kings led by MS Dhoni.

The special thing about the victory was that the side was being led by Rishabh Pant and not Shreyas Iyer. It is pertinent to mention that Iyer had suffered an injury after which he was ruled out of the tournament.

Rishabh Pant has been in tremendous form ever since the tour of Australia. Likewise, he was seen confident with bat and gloves both while leading Delhi.
