BMW Delhi crash: Accused Gaganpreet Kaur granted bail, told to surrender passport
PTC News Desk: A Delhi court on Saturday granted bail to BMW crash accused Gaganpreet Kaur that killed Finance Ministry official Navjot Singh and critically injured his wife. The court has directed the accused to surrender her passport and to furnish a personal bond of Rs 1 lakh.
The Patiala House Court heard the case on Saturday. Before pronouncing the verdict, the court said an ambulance reached the spot of the accident within seconds, and it remained there for at least 30 seconds and did not take the injured to the hospital.
The court stated that the case appears to be a case of medical negligence as the ambulance with paramedics onboard, had the duty to transport the injured to the hospital.
Earlier this month, Gaganpreet Kaur, 38, was arrested by police as she was driving the BMW that rammed into Navjot Singh, 52, and his wife in Delhi’s Dhaula Kuan. Navjot Singh, a Deputy Secretary in the Department of Economic Affairs, was killed after his motorcycle was struck while he was returning from the Bangla Sahib Gurdwara. His wife suffered grievous injuries in the crash.
