Delhi on alert: Airport, schools and other institutions receive bomb threats via e-mail, probe on
PTC News Desk: Delhi's Indira Gandhi International Airport on Sunday received a bomb threats via e-mail. In addition to Delhi airport, several schools and other institutions across the national capital aso received similar threats and searches are being conducted.
The sender claimed to having association with a terrorist group named "Terrorise 111' and warned that bombs had been planted on several locations threatening explosions within 24 hours.
However the police officials have described the threat as hoax, yet a full scale investigation has been launched. The threat email was sent to between 100 and 150 email addresses belonging to various organisations.
Investigations are ongoing as officials monitor the situation closely.
Meanwhile, the bomb threat at two schools in Delhi, CRPF Public School in Dwarka and Sarvodaya Vidyalaya near Qutub Minar, were declared a hoax by Delhi Fire Services after thorough searches.
"Police teams, fire personnel, and bomb disposal units were promptly deployed to the affected schools to carry out a search operation properly. However, nothing suspicious was found," the official said.
