Mohali, February 24: Following a few days of relief granted by the Supreme Court, the Shiromani Akali Dal leader Bikram Singh Majithia has been sent to judicial custody till March 8. According to information, the Mohali Court has sent the SAD leader Bikram Majithia to judicial remand till March 8 while the hearing on his regular bail will take place at 12 pm on February 25. Ahead of Punjab Assembly elections 2022, the Supreme Court had granted protection from arrest to Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) leader Bikram Singh Majithia till February 23 in the drug case. Drugs case: Bikram Singh Majithia sent to judicial custody till March 8 A Bench of Chief Justice of India Nuthalapati Venkata Ramana and Justices AS Bopanna and Hima Kohli had asked Bikram Majithia to surrender before the trial court concerned on February 23 and apply for regular bail. The top court observed that such cases are not filed before elections. The observation of the top court came when it told Punjab government about another anticipatory bail plea filed by an MLA who complained of FIR being registered ahead of elections.
