Amitabh Bachchan hospitalised in Mumbai, undergoes angioplasty in leg

Amitabh Bachchan hospitalised: Big B, renowned actor, celebrity icon and superstar Amitabh Bachchan (81) has been hospitalised to Kokilaben Hospital in Mumbai during the early hours of Friday.

As per the reports, Big B underwent an angioplasty procedure on his leg.

According to sources cited by the publications, Bachchan is receiving treatment for peripheral, and not coronary heart. The insider sources further clarified that an angioplasty was performed on a clot in his leg, and not on his heart.

Earlier, around noon today, superstar Amitabh Bachchan took to his X handle (former Twitter) and wrote ''T 4950 - in gratitude ever.'' The post has received numerous 'get well soon' messages from his fans and supporters.

Further details are pending as neither the hospital nor Bachchan's family has issued an official statement yet.

The veteran actor known for enduring career in the Indian film industry, spanning several decades has been dealing with several minor health issues since few years. 

Earlier this year, he underwent wrist surgery, and in 2020, he spent nearly a month in the hospital fighting Covid-19. Additionally, he experienced another bout of Covid in 2022.

Meanwhile, on the work front, Big B will be next seen in the sci-fi action thriller film 'Kalki 2898 AD' alongside Deepika Padukone and Prabhas.
He also has a courtroom drama film 'Section 84' in his kitty
