Flipkart launches ‘Sell Back Programme’ in India, customers can sell used smartphones

Flipkart, one of the largest e-commerce companies, is all set with a new feature as it announced a 'Sell Back programme' on Monday via press release. The new sell back feature will initially start with smartphones and later will be adopted on all the categories of Flipkart. This new programme will allow the customer to sell and buy back the smartphones in the form of a Flipkart Electronic Gift Voucher. This means that when customers sell their used smartphones on Flipkart, they will get an e-voucher from the e-commerce platform, which the company claims will be of the "right buy-back value." The programme is live in all the major cities across India, covering more than 1,500 pin codes such as Delhi, Mumbai, Pune and Kolkata, etc. By launching this programme, Flipkart attempts to contribute to a circular economy. Recently, Flipkart Group acquired electronics re-commerce firm Yaantra with the goal of "building a major re-commerce offering, obtaining better access to affordable refurbished devices, and providing a comprehensive service ecosystem to clients," according to the company. Know-all-about-Flipkart's-'Sell-Back-Program'-5 Prakash Sikaria, Senior Vice-President and Head of Flipkart’s Growth Charter, said in a press release, “At Flipkart, we continuously work towards bringing smart-tech-enabled solutions to help our customers purchase the latest, desired products at best prices.
