Food Security Act violated, alleges depot holders over non-distribution of wheat in last 6 months

Chandigarh: The President of Depot Holders Union on Friday made a big revelation about the distribution of wheat. President of Depot Holders Union Sukhwinder Singh stated that for the first time in the history of Punjab 1 crore 42 lakh people will not get ration on Diwali. As Punjab government has not initiated wheat distribution as of now, it is however expected to begin on November 1. They said that according to the Food Security Act, wheat has to be distributed once every month. The President of the Depot Holders Union claims that the Shiromani Akali Dal government used to distribute double quantity of wheat on the occasion of Diwali, but the Aam Aadmi Party did not give wheat to the people even once. Sukhwinder Singh said that the Food Security Act has been violated. He has said that the Punjab government should have distributed wheat among the people before the festival of Diwali.
