Harsimrat Badal thanks CM for comments says she will pray to almighty as she always did to grant her even more humility Union food processing industry minister Harsimrat Kaur Badal today while thanking chief minister Capt Amarinder Singh for his comments, said she would pray to the almighty every morning and evening as she always did to grant her even more humility. As far as I am concerned he is free to say what he pleases about me. I, however, put my faith in Waheguru and leave it to the people of Bathinda to judge me. I have always been among my people and even now among them. Raja Sahib has promised to devote a total of two days to run me down and prevent me from being re-elected. I wish him the best of luck”. The Bathinda MP said while she did not want to join issues with the CM on comments about her nature, she did take umbrage to Amarinder’s claim that she had not supported Punjab’s cause in any way. “I have taken up issues concerning Punjab as well as the Sikh community vociferously. While Prime Minister Narendra Modi has always reacted positively to my concerns and even supported me, you (CM) have continuously avoided acting on my letters and in fact, have also delayed the AIIMS project as well as the Ladhowal mega food park. I am attaching the letters I wrote to you urging you to expedite mandatory clearances needed from your government for AIIMS which were delayed deliberately to deny me credit for bringing the prestigious institute to Bathinda. I am also attaching letters urging you to inaugurate the Ladhowal mega food park which would have helped the potato farmers tremendously besides increasing wheat storage in silos”. The union minister said she had always tried to involve the Punjab government in activities of the food processing ministry. She said the Punjab government participated in the World Food India fair with great reluctance. She said the Congress government did not apply for food processing ministry schemes nor did it assist farmers to do so. “You and your government, however, did play politics. Two weeks before the imposition of the model code you wrote a letter to me to include Punjab in the Operation Green project despite not doing any ground work for the same”. She said 41 projects were taken up by her ministry in the State including three mega food parks, 19 cold chains, two agro-processing clusters, seven food testing laboratories and a training cum business incubation centre besides others. “All these will generate an employment of 45,000 and benefit 1.3 lakh farmers”, she added.
