HC reserves order on filing of challan by new SIT on Bargari derogatory poster case

Bargari derogatory poster case: On restraining from filing a challan in the FIR registered at Police Station Baja Khana (Faridkot) over alleged posters containing derogatory remarks about Guru Granth Sahib, the Punjab and Haryana High Court has reserved its order on Thursday. In an application filed on behalf of Sukhwinder Sunny, it has been said that he was accused of putting up provocative posters during the demonstration in Kotkapura after the sacrilege incident in Bargari. It was investigated by the SIT and the CBI has written samples of the poster and its writing. However, the new SIT is talking about matching his writing again while the CFSL report is already in the file. CBI had already submitted a closure report before the Special Magistrate, CBI Court at Mohali, on July 4, 2019. It stated that the petitioner and other accused were innocent. -PTC News
