BCCI has every right to hold IPL if ICC T20 World Cup gets postponed: Holding
West Indies legend Michael Holding stated that the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has every right to hold the Indian Premier League (IPL) later this year if ICC postpones T20 World Cup in Australia. Amid travel restrictions during the coronavirus outbreak, there are speculations that the T20 World Cup, scheduled to be held between October 18 and November 15, may get postponed, giving BCCI a window to organise IPL 2020. During an Instagram Live with Nikhil Naz, Michael Holding said that "I don't think ICC is delaying or postponing the T20 World Cup because they are making space for the IPL. The Australian government laid down a law where they are not allowing any visitors into the country before a specific date."
"But if there is no T20 World Cup, the BCCI has all rights to go ahead and organise the tournament because there's a space. If they are encroaching on other people's tournament, you could say okay," he added. Also Read | New Zealand lifts coronavirus restrictions after nation declared corona-freeView this post on Instagram
