Lakhimpur Kheri violence: SAD delegation in Lucknow to meet kin of deceased farmers

Lakhimpur Kheri: A high-level delegation of the Shiromani Akali Dal, led by former Union Minister Harsimrat Kaur Badal, reached Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh, Friday morning. The delegation will meet the families of farmers who were allegedly mowed down during a peaceful protest on October 2. The SAD delegation will also meet Uttar Pradesh government representatives and impress upon them to arrest the "perpetrators" of this "barbaric act" reported at Lakhimpur Kheri. "We strongly condemn the killing of farmers at Lakhimpur Kheri. This will not be tolerated at any cost. We want justice for the families who have lost their members. Our party stands with them." Meanwhile, two persons have been taken into custody and are being questioned in the Lakhimpur Kheri violence case. The police have recovered empty bullet shells at the violence site.
