Man gets life sentence for wife’s murder in Kaithal
A Kaithal man was sentenced to undergo life imprisonment by the court of Additional District Sessional Judge on Tuesday for murdering his wife. District Sessions Judge Vivek Nasir also imposed a fine of Rs 10,000. The convict has been identified as Karamveer (52) of Sinad village had murdered his wife Dhanpati on October 23, 2017.

What exactly happened?
On October 23, 2017, Dhanpati’s brother Basau Ram of Julhera village of Jind received information that Karamveer had severely beaten her. He found her sister dead with grievous injuries on her face and other parts of her body. Following her death, Karamveer tried to cremate her secretly.

Basau Ram lodged a complaint with the police that his brother in law used to torture his sister. He has also evicted her from home many times. The police started investigating the case and arrested Karamveer. Dhanpati had married Karamveer 28 years ago.
