MP Sahney lauds Punjab govt for passing 'historic' rural development amendment bill

Chandigarh, July 6: Rajya Sabha MP from Punjab and International president of World Punjabi Organisation, Vikramjit Singh Sahney on Wednesday congratulated Bhagwant Mann and Punjab government for passing a historic Punjab Rural development Amendment bill, 2022. He praised the Bhagwant Mann government's move, saying it is legislation that will allow the Rural Development Fund given by the Centre to be spent only on rural development such as rural roads, building new Mandis while upgrading those that already exist, storage facilities, and relief to debt-stressed farmers through automation mechanisation of mandis for cleaning, sorting, drying, and analysing grain quality, as well as shipping silos, bag sacking, and stitching.
