Narayan Rane detained over 'slap Uddhav' remark, may face arrest
Union Minister Narayan Rane has been detained over his controversial remarks against Maharashtra CM Uddhav Thackeray in which he said he would slap the chief minister. Meanwhile, he moved the Bombay High Court seeking quashing of the FIRs against him. Narayan Rane was detained by Ratnagiri Police after row over 'slap CM' comment. "The words used by Narayan Rane for Maharashtra Chief Minister during his press conference are condemnable. People like him, who do not know their limits and use such objectionable language, do not deserve to be in the Cabinet. This is an insult to our Prime Minister as well," he said in his letter. As per the information, the police has registered a case under sections 500, 505 (2), 153B (1)c of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) based on the complaint filed by Nashik Shiv Sena chief. "I have not committed any crime. Is it not a crime if someone doesn't know about August 15? I had said that I would have slapped - these were the words and it's not a crime," Narayan has said. -PTC News
