Ajit Pawar death: Ill-fated plane carrying Maharashtra deputy chief minister crashed in 2023 as well
PTC News Desk: The ill-fated plane that Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar was onboard, had crashed in 2023 as well. In September 2023, the private plane skid off the runway and crashed while trying to land amid heavy rain at Mumbai airport.
NCP chief Ajit Pawar and four others, including a pilot and a crew member, were killed after a private aircraft crashed in Maharashtra’s Pune district on Wednesday morning. The Learjet 45, owned and operated by VSR Ventures, had taken off from Mumbai at around 8 am and went down near Baramati airport roughly 45 minutes later after reportedly losing control during a landing attempt. The aircraft burst into flames following the crash, and visuals from the site show severely wrecked debris.
September 2023 Crash
On September 14, 2023, another Learjet 45XR operated by VSR Ventures had crashed while attempting to land at Mumbai’s Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport amid heavy rainfall and poor visibility.
That aircraft was operating a non-scheduled passenger flight from Visakhapatnam to Mumbai, commanded by a pilot holding an Airline Transport Pilot Licence (ATPL), along with a co-pilot certified with a Commercial Pilot Licence (CPL). There were six passengers on board at the time of that incident.
