PTC News Desk: BJP MLA and Delhi's ex-transport and environment Minister Kailash Gahlot's daughter Devina Gehlot has secured All India Rank (AIR) 1 in the recently declared CUET UG 2026 results, emerging as the top scorer in an examination taken by lakhs of students across the country.

Devina said that the results came as complete surprise even though she was confident of her strong performance in the examination. She credited her parents, sister, school and teachers for supporting her throughout the preparation journey.

Sharing her preparation strategy, topper Gehlot said she did not study for long hours every day. Instead, she focused on staying disciplined, taking regular breaks, and revising her subjects consistently.

She said that preparing for the CBSE board exams helped her build a strong foundation for the CUET. Advising future aspirants, Gehlot recommended sticking to NCERT books and avoiding too many study materials. According to her, understanding concepts clearly is more important than using multiple sources.

Gehlot also highlighted the importance of self-confidence during exam preparation. She said that excessive pressure can negatively affect performance and reduce confidence. Staying calm and trusting one's preparation, she added, are key to doing well in competitive exams.

Speaking about the changing pattern of entrance tests, Gehlot said that rote learning is no longer enough. She described CUET as an application-based exam that rewards conceptual understanding and regular practice rather than memorisation.

According to her, consistent revision is more effective than studying continuously for an entire day.

The Common University Entrance Test Undergraduate (CUET UG) 2026 was one of the largest entrance examinations in India, with over 15.68 lakh students registering for it. Of these, around 11.64 lakh candidates appeared for the exam, which was conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA) between May and June.
