BJP leader RP Singh comes out in Diljit Dosanjh's support, calls him 'national asset'
PTC News Desk: Amid growing calls for boycott and controversy surrounding Sardar Ji 3, Diljit Dosanjh has managed to garner support from BJP National spokesperson RP Singh who has described him has 'national asset'.
RP Singh has termed the FWICE's demand to revoke Diljit's citizenship as absurd. He took to his social media and said, "Diljit Dosanjh is not just a celebrated artist—he's a national asset and a global ambassador of Indian culture. FWICE’s call to revoke his Indian citizenship over an inadvertent and pre-incident film shoot is not only unfair but shockingly disproportionate."
He further asserted that the film was shot before the Pahalgam attack and a national asset like him should not be villified.

"The film featuring a Pakistani actress was shot before the Phalgam attack. If there is anguish, it can be expressed through a boycott or by urging that the film not be screened in India. But attacking Diljit’s patriotism and demanding such an extreme step is simply irrational," he added further.
"TV anchors invite Pakistanis for TRPs daily. Do we question their patriotism ?
Let’s not weaponize nationalism," he added further.
Meanwhile RP Singh has also questioned not a while ago before the deadly Pahalgam attack took place, Indian cricket team played a match with Pakistan but no objections were raised over them.
"Just days before the Phalgam incident, the Indian cricket team played a match against Pakistan. Did FWICE or others object then?" he said.
As the controversy surrounding casting of Pakistani actress in Sardar Ji 3 continous to mount, Punjabi singer and actor Diljit Dosanjh had issued a clarification stating that the film was shot in Febrauary, much earlier before the India Pakistan fallout due to the Pahalgam attack and Operation Sindoor that ensued.
