Chandigarh, December 24: Chandigarh College of Architecture (CCA) suspended seven senior students on Saturday for allegedly ragging a first-year B Arch student. The announcement came after a video of a group of seniors beating up a junior student went viral on social media.

In the viral video, students of Chandigarh College of Architecture (CCA) could be seen physically assaulting one of the first-year students in full public view in the name of ragging.

The video was allegedly shot by an unidentified person who witnessed the ragging on Thursday. An unverified account user shared a video on one of the social media platforms showing senior students physically assaulting one of the first-year students and asking other students to stand in line and wait their turn.

Male and female college students were caught on the camera telling freshmen to line up and wait their turn. Even senior students were heard urging those present to strike the victim (student).

More than 25 students, including several females, can be seen standing near the victim. "Abhi aur bhi first-year wale hai yanha par (There are more first-year students here)," a student can be heard saying.

The incident allegedly occurred on Thursday evening. The suspended students were identified by the college's anti-ragging committee (CCA) on Friday.
