Family of three on way to distribute cards killed after speeding Audi runs over them
PTC News Desk: Three members of a family died after a fast-moving Audi car hit their motorcycle from behind in Madhya Pradesh’s Rewa district on Saturday evening. The victims were identified as 55-year-old Bhagwat Vishwakarma, his son Shivam Vishwakarma, and their relative Sheetal Vishwakarma.
The family members were travelling across Rewa to distribute wedding invitation cards. Police said the wedding of Bhagwat’s elder son was planned for February 24.
The accident happened near Kosta village on the Rewa-Prayagraj highway, just about 2 km from their home. According to an eyewitness, a speeding Audi coming from the Prayagraj side hit their motorcycle and then crashed into the road divider. The impact threw the three victims off the bike, killing them on the spot. The motorcycle was badly damaged. Police detained the car driver at the scene.
Bhagwat and Shivam were residents of Chachai, while Sheetal lived in nearby Rathara. Their bodies were taken to Sanjay Gandhi Hospital in Rewa for post-mortem. Family members reached the hospital after receiving the news and were seen grieving there.
