Five killed as speeding SUV collides with tractor on Gwalior-Jhansi highway
PTC News Desk: At least five people killed and several injured after a speeding SUV collided with a tractor-trolley carrying sand on the Gwalior-Jhansi highway in Madhya Pradesh on Sunday. The SUV rammed into the trolley from behind.
Superintendent of Police Nagendra Singh Sikarwar said the bodies of the five victims were wedged between the SUV and the tractor-trolley, and rescuers had to use a cutter to remove them. He noted that the crash occurred roughly 20 kilometres from the Gwalior district headquarters.
Police said the SUV belonged to Gwalior-based property dealer Umesh Rajawat, and his son, Prince Rajawat, was behind the wheel at the time of the accident. The other four victims were identified as Kaushal Bhadoria, Aditya Pratap Singh Jadon, Abhimanyu Singh, and Shivam Rajpurohit—all in their early twenties.
The group, all residents of Gwalior, was returning from Jhansi in Uttar Pradesh when the collision occurred. The tractor driver fled the scene after the crash and is currently missing.
