Girl's cry for help goes viral after ex-Army man beats her, ties to chain for stealing guavas
PTC News Desk: A disturbing case of child abuse has been reported from Una district in Himachal Pradesh. A retired Army man is accused of tying up and beating a young girl because she plucked guavas from a tree near his house.
The girl, who belongs to a migrant family, was allegedly taken inside the man’s house, tied to a staircase with a chain, and beaten. A young man working in the merchant navy recorded a video of the incident, which later appeared online. In the video, the girl is seen crying and begging for help, while the man tries to justify his actions by saying she had stolen guavas.
The person who recorded the video, Rohit, informed the child helpline and the police. He also said the accused later apologised to the girl’s family and admitted his mistake.
Police have questioned the accused, recorded statements from the family, and conducted a medical check-up of the girl.
A case has been registered against the man, and further investigation is ongoing.
