Gurugram: District administration declares 5 Gurugram apartments ‘unsafe’, orders demolition
Gurugram: In a proactive step toward enhancing safety, the district administration of Gurugram takes decisive action in the Chintels Paradiso complex located in Sector 109.
Following an order issued by Gurugram Deputy Commissioner Nishant Kumar Yadav, permission has been granted to demolish five towers within the residential society deemed unsafe for habitation.
D, E, F, G, and H towers of the Chintels Paradiso complex have been identified as unsafe based on audit reports conducted by a team from IIT Delhi.

The decision of demolition comes after tragic and horrific incident on February 10, 2022 where a partial collapse of six floors in Tower D resulted in the loss of two lives, highlighting the urgency of the situation.
The official order reads, “Permission is allowed for demolition of towers D, E, F, G & H of Group Housing Society namely M/s Chintel Paradiso Pvt Ltd, Sector-109, Gurugram, subjected to the compliances of policy/guidelines of the concerned departments."

Upon receiving the builder's email Yadav addressed the matter by convening a committee led by Additional Deputy Commissioner Hitesh Kumar Meena. This committee included representatives from relevant departments, ensuring a comprehensive review of the situation.
"It is pertinent to mention here that this permission does not provide immunity from any other applicable state/central law/act/policy related to the subjected work. Further, in case of any lapse/mishappening/carelessness at site, you will be solely responsible and relevant action will be taken accordingly. Further, you will submit the fortnightly report along with compliances to the concerned," the order stated.
Meena also confirmed the issuance of the demolition order.
