PTC News Desk: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will lay the foundation stone of the International Cricket Stadium in Uttar Pradesh's Varanasi on Saturday.

CM Yogi Adityanath-led Uttar Pradesh government has spent Rs 121 crores on land acquisition for the construction of the International Cricket Stadium in Varanasi.


BCCI will also spend Rs 330 crores on the stadium's construction.

The stadium's thematic architecture is inspired by Lord Shiva, with concepts for crescent-shaped roof covers, trident-shaped floodlights, ghat steps-based seating, and Bilvipatra-shaped metallic sheets on the facade.

The stadium will have a seating capacity of 30,000 people.

PM Modi’s schedule for September 23

Later, at around 3.15 p.m., the Prime Minister will arrive at the Rudraksh International Cooperation and Convention Centre to attend the concluding ceremony of the Kashi Sansad Sanskritik Mahotsav 2023.

PM Modi will also dedicate to Nation 16 Atal Awasiya Vidyalaya established across Uttar Pradesh during his visit to his Parliamentary constituency.

To further improve access to quality education, 16 Atal Awasiya Vidyalayas have been established across Uttar Pradesh at a cost of approximately Rs 1115 crores, exclusively for children of labourers, construction workers, and orphans affected by the COVID-19 pandemic, with the goal of providing quality education and assisting in the holistic development of children.

Each school is built over 10-15 acres and includes classrooms, a sports field, a recreation centre, a mini-auditorium, a hostel complex, a mess, and residential flats for staff. These residential schools will eventually house 1000 students each.
