Mumbai Police on high alert after serial bomb threats, probe underway

Mumbai, February 2: The Mumbai Traffic Police Control Room was on Friday alerted to a threatening message indicating plans for serial bomb blasts across the city. The message claimed that bombs had been strategically placed at six different locations in Mumbai. In response, the entire agency has been placed on high alert, and an intensive investigation is currently underway to trace the sender of the ominous message.

Adding to the tension, Chattrapati Shivaji Vastu Sangrayala in Colaba and Nehru Science Centre in Worli also received bomb threats via email on January 6. The emails asserted the presence of explosive devices at these locations, capable of detonating at any moment. However, thorough inspections by the Bomb Detection and Disposal Squad (BDDS) and the dog squad of the Mumbai Police revealed no signs of anything suspicious. Subsequently, the police have filed cases against unidentified individuals responsible for sending these threatening emails, highlighting the serious consequences of such false alarms.
