No shortage of Oxygen beds in Delhi: While the second wave of coronavirus has badly affected the nation's health infrastructure, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Tuesday said that the COVID-19 cases were going down in Delhi and so was the second wave. "Coronavirus cases are going down in Delhi, so is the second wave," Kejriwal said, adding that "With your cooperation, the lockdown was successful." On lockdown in Delhi, Arvind Kejriwal said that "We've increased the number of Oxygen beds in past few days. On Monday, we started 500 new ICU beds near GTB Hospital. Now there's no shortage of ICU and Oxygen beds in Delhi." "Right now, we're administering 1.25 lakh doses every day," he said, adding that "We'll soon begin vaccinating over 3 lakh people every day. We aim to vaccinate all residents of Delhi within the next 3 months. But we're facing a vaccine shortage. We're left with stock that will last only a few days." Delhi CM said that only 2 companies were producing vaccines and they produce only 6-7 crore vaccines a month. "This way, it'll take over 2 years to vaccinate everyone, he said, adding that many waves would've come by then. It was important to increase vaccine production on a war footing and frame a national plan to vaccinate all,' he said. Adding, he said that not just 2, several companies should be deployed to produce vaccines and that the Centre should collect the formula to produce vaccines from these 2 companies and give it to all those companies that can produce vaccines safely.
