Amid tension at Delhi borders, a village in Bathinda, Punjab, has passed an order asking everyone to send at least one member of each family to farmers protest or face penalty. As per the report, the Sarpanch Manjit Kaur of Virk Khurd gram panchayat in Bathinda, Punjab, said that at least one member of each family would participate in farmers’ protest at Delhi borders for a week. Even as she said that “those who won't participate in the protest will have to pay penalty of Rs 1,500 and those who will not pay fine will be boycotted." The development came after Swaraj India Chief Yogendra Yadav urged all farmers across India to send one member of each family at various borders in Delhi to participate in the movement. Even as farmer leader Balbir Singh Rajewal said that "I appeal to people to join the peaceful protest (in Delhi) but don't do anything even in flow of emotions if someone tries to instigate you." He also remined people that "We should keep in mind that we're not going to war. This is our country and our govt."
