PTC News Desk: Actress Kangana Ranaut, BJP's candidate from Mandi Lok Sabha seat in Himachal Pradesh, conducted a roadshow for the upcoming 2024 Lok Sabha Elections, where she was warmly received by supporters. Addressing the crowd, she emphasised, "Don't think that Kangana is a heroine, that she is a star. Consider Kangana your sister, your daughter. Everyone is my family."

Ahead of her roadshow, she expressed gratitude for the overwhelming support, stating, "You can see the large gathering here. A lot of people have come here. They are all proud that the daughter of Mandi, the nationalist voice from Mandi will represent the constituency in this election."

Highlighting development as BJP's main agenda, Kangana asserted, "The people of Mandi will show what is in their heart," amidst chants of 'Jai Shri Ram' from her supporters.

However, tensions rose as Himachal Pradesh minister Vikramaditya Singh indirectly compared Kangana to BJP's actor-politician Sunny Deol, raising concerns over absenteeism from parliamentary duties. Singh's remarks prompted a response from Kangana's opponent, Congress state president Pratibha Singh, who expressed readiness to contest from Mandi.

Pratibha Singh stated her willingness to challenge Kangana Ranaut if directed by the Congress leadership, asserting her credentials as a former MP who won the seat in a bypoll in 2021. She affirmed, "If they finalise my name, I will go to the field to fight the elections."

Himachal Pradesh, with four Lok Sabha seats, gears up for elections on June 1, alongside bypolls for six assembly constituencies vacated by the disqualification of six rebel Congress MLAs.
