Nitish Kumar, Chandrababu Naidu hand letter of support to BJP in NDA meeting at PM Modi’s residence

Lok Sabha 2024 | In a significant development, Janata Dal (United) chief Nitish Kumar and Telugu Desam Party supremo N Chandrababu Naidu have submitted letters of support during the NDA meeting held at Prime Minister Modi's residence. The NDA allies are set to stake their claim to form the government today, with Prime Minister Modi and Amit Shah expected to meet with President Droupadi Murmu to formalise the process.

This announcement came shortly after the conclusion of the NDA meeting, indicating a unified approach among the coalition partners. The gesture underscores the alliance's commitment and solidarity as they prepare to move forward with government formation.


The counting of the 2024 Lok Sabha Elections was held on Tuesday. According to the Election Commission of India, the BJP won 240 seats, much lower than its 2019 tally of 303. The Congress, on the other hand, registered a strong improvement, winning 99 seats. The INDIA bloc crossed the 230 mark, defying all predictions and posing stiff competition to NDA (292).
