Punjab Assembly elections 2022: SAD announces candidate from Ludhiana North

Punjab Assembly elections 2022: Shiromani Akali Dal President Sukhbir Singh Badal on Wednesday announced RD Sharma as the party candidate from Ludhiana North.

He remained Councillor of Ludhiana MC thrice and remained Dy Mayor in last MC. With this, Shiromani Akali Dal has announced a total of 84 candidates ahead of the Punjab Assembly elections 2022.

SAD leader Daljit Singh Cheema took to Twitter to announce that Sukhbir Singh Badal has named RD Sharma as the SAD candidate from Ludhiana North.

On Tuesday, Shiromani Akali Dal and Bahujan Samajwadi Party announced the exchange of Mohali and Ludhiana North seats with Raikot and Dina Nagar seats.

In a tweet, Cheema had written, "The SAD President S Sukhbir Singh Badal and BSP President S Jasbir Singh Garhi have jointly announced the exchange of Mohali and Ludhiana North seats which were with BSP with Raikot and Dina Nagar seats which were earlier with SAD. The total seat share remains the same."

Recently, the party fielded Sunita Chaudhry from the Balachaur Assembly constituency, Jaspal Singh Bitu Chatha from Patiala Rural, and youth leader Bachittar Singh Kohar from Shahkot assembly constituency.

Punjab is scheduled to go for Assembly polls in 2022.
