New Update
Punjab Congress chief Navjot Singh Sidhu on Saturday reached the integrated check-post of Kartarpur Corridor at Dera Baba Nanak, Gurdaspur, to visit Gurdwara Darbar Sahib in Kartarpur in Pakistan.
His visit comes after a fresh tussle erupted in the Punjab Congress following the exclusion of Navjot Singh Sidhu's name from Punjab Chief Minister Charanjit Singh Channi-led delegation comprising state Cabinet ministers that visited Kartarpur Sahib on November 18.

Kartarpur Corridor, which links Gurdwara Darbar Sahib in Pakistan, the final resting place of Sikhism founder Guru Nanak Dev, to Dera Baba Nanak shrine in Gurdaspur district, reopened on November 17. It was closed amid the Covid-19 pandemic.
The visa-free 4.7-kilometre long corridor joins the Indian border to Gurdwara Darbar Sahib in Pakistan. It became operational in 2019.
Earlier, the Imran Khan-led Pakistan government praised cricketer-turned-politician Navjot Singh Sidhu for his role in the opening of Kartarpur Corridor to Sikh pilgrimage site Kartarpur Sahib between the two countries.

The relationship between Imran Khan and Navjot Singh Sidhu came to the limelight in 2018 when the latter attended the oath-taking ceremony of the Pakistan Prime Minister.
A reference to the Punjab Congress chief's name was made on the kartarpurcorridor.com website, which said that idea of the corridor was shared by Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan with Navjot Singh Sidhu.
"The idea was shared with the Indian legend Sikh cricketer Sardar Navjot Singh Sidhu who attended the 'Swearing In' ceremony of Prime Minister of Pakistan. On 28 November 2018, Prime Minister Imran Khan and Navjot Singh Sidhu attended the Ground Breaking Ceremony of Kartarpur Corridor," the kartarpurcorridor.com website page read.
