Farmers from Punjab blocked National Highway in Mandi Gobindgarh, Chandigarh-Manali National Highway and Chandigarh-Jalandhar road.

On Saturday, angry farmers blocked multiple roads across Haryana to protest 'brutal' police action against fellow farmers in neighbouring Karnal district.
It may be recalled that farmers were protesting a meeting led by Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar to discuss a forthcoming municipal election.
Farmers blocked highways after which police lathicharged them. Haryana Bharatiya Kisan Union (Chaduni) chief Gurnam Singh Chaduni alleged that police lathicharged them and that many were injured.
Photos are making rounds on social media showing farmers bleeding after they were dispersed by the police.
Karnal's Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM) Ayush Sinha was heard asking the police officials to ensure the protesting farmers don't cross the barricade. He told them to 'break their heads' if they cross the barricade.
Later in the day, there was a second lathicharge on farmers in Amritsar who were protesting against Prime Minister Narendra Modi's virtual inauguration of a renovated Jallianwala Bagh memorial.
