Punjab: SC orders to transfer Sumedh Saini case to another HC judge
New Delhi, March 4: The Supreme Court has described the Punjab and Haryana High Court's order on a clear stay on the investigation in all cases against Punjab’s former police chief Sumedh Singh Saini and his arrest in all registered or likely to be registered cases till April 20 as "shocking".

Justice Sangwan said: “List again on April 20. Interim order dated September 10, 2021, will continue till the next date of hearing.”
In his 46-page judgment, Justice Sangwan had asserted, "The order is being passed considering it to be a case of exceptional circumstances and hardship being caused to the petitioner by Punjab on political grounds."
