SAD-BJP to meet Governor Badnore on law and order tomorrow A high level joint delegation led by former deputy chief minister Sukhbir Singh Badal and Punjab BJP president Shwait Malik will meet the Punjab governor VP Singh Badnore at 1:00 PM on Tuesday to appraise him of the deteriorating law and order situation in the state and urge him to take immediate corrective steps. Stating this here today, senior vice president and spokesman of the party Dr. Daljeet Singh Cheema said the situation is getting worse each day and the Congress government is busy in petty politicking, enjoying spoils of office and it ministers are busy in one up-manship with each other which has left them with no time to concentrate of problems of the state. Dr. Cheema said that SAD- BJP both stood for peace and harmony and have worked hard to bring normalcy after a turbulent period and hence deeply concerned at the emerging trends and separatist making desperate attempts to regain ground. What is more shocking is that the ruling Congress party turned comrade in arms to such forces. All this portends a serious threat to communal harmony in the state which remained most peaceful state during the last decade during SAD-BJP regime. Also Read: 'Rejection of the SAD nominees is rampant,' says Daljit Singh Cheema More urgently, Dr. Cheema said the tensions have been mounting in the state in run up to the Zila Parishad and Panchayat Samiti polls because under the thumb of Congress leaders, the officials have turned biased and profusely discriminating against the non- Congress candidates. The polling has already been totally vitiated by officials by rejecting large number of nominations without any rhyme or reason, especially of Akalis, and subsequently the Akali nominees have been threatened, coerced and obstructed. Since the discontentment has been simmering for denying level playing field for the polls, the peoples anger could erupt if the goons of the ruling party are not restrained from meddling in peaceful poll process. Hence, the SAD-BJP would urge the governor to ensure to put the law and order machinery in fast mode and restore complete normalcy in the state. -PTC NEWS
