In the run-up to the Punjab Assembly elections 2022, Shiromani Akali Dal president Sukhbir Singh Badal on Saturday said Sikandar Singh Maluka continued to be the party candidate from the Rampura Phul Assembly constituency. Besides, Sukhbir Singh Badal has appointed Sikander Singh Maluka's son Gurpreet Singh Maluka as general secretary of the party. Also read | Telegram launches live stream feature with unlimited viewers in its latest update Denying any such development, the SAD president made it clear that Sikander Maluka would contest the Punjab Assembly elections 2022 from the Rampura Phul constituency. On September 1, the Shiromani Akali Dal President had announced six more candidates for the upcoming Punjab Assembly elections 2022. The six candidates are Jagmeet Singh Brar from Maur, Jeet Mohinder Singh from Talwandi Sabo, Suba Singh from Jaitu, Mantar S Brar from Kotkapura, Kanwarjit S Rosy Barkandi from Mukatsar and Parambans Singh Romana from Faridkot. Likewise, on August 29, the SAD President had announced 3 candidates. The three candidates were Sikandar Singh Maluka from Rampura Phool, Parkash Singh Bhatti from Bathinda Rural, and Darshan Singh Kotfatta from Bhucho Mandi Assembly constituency. -PTC News
