Spain opens to fully vaccinated travellers from India

In a major relief, Spain has reopened for fully vaccinated Indians from August 2. Travellers who have taken both doses of Covishied are now allowed. Besides, the UAE has also allowed fully vaccinated people carrying valid residency permits from India and five other countries to return from August 5.

Spain is now the latest European country that’s ready to receive travellers from India. It’s consular offices here started issuing visas across all categories from August 2. The visas also allow for a change of date and validity.

Read the highlights:

Only fully vaccinated Indian travellers are eligible to travel to Spain. Covishield is valid, Covaxin is not. Children under 12 years of age are not required to present these certificates or supporting documents.

You will need a Schengen visa or apply for a Spanish visa through BLS International. Only the Delhi centre is processing applications at the moment.

In case your flight is cancelled or you are unable to travel during the visa period, you are allowed to change the dates of trip

If you need to change the validity of the visa, you only need to submit the passport and fresh flight reservation (not confirmed tickets), if the visa period has not started. If you need to make this change after your visa is in effect, you need to reapply with all documents.

Applicants may present the passport for date change, or fresh application (only for above stated cases) directly at the Consulate as well, with prior appointment.
