Know India's ranking at Tokyo Olympics 2020

After a tumultuous 2020 due to the Covid 19 outbreak, the postponed Tokyo Olympics 2020 are now officially underway.

Japan is no stranger to the Olympics, with the country having already hosted three Games with the 1964 Summer Olympics in Tokyo, the 1972 Winter Olympics in Sapporo and the 1998 Winter Olympics in Nagano.

The Tokyo Olympics 2020 will make Japan the third-most frequent Olympic host country in history with four, behind only the United States (nine) and France (six).

China: 28 gold, 16 silver and 16 bronze medals

USA: 21 gold, 25 silver and 16 bronze medals

Japan: 17 gold, 6 silver and 10 bronze medals

Australia: 14 gold. 4 silver and 14 bronze meals

ROC (Russia): 12 gold, 21 silver nd 17 bronze medals

India women beat Australia to enter Tokyo Olympics hockey semi-finals

Currently, India ranks 61 and has won 1 silver and 1 bronze medal so far. The silver medal was won by Mirabai Chanu and the bronze was lifted by PV Sindhu.  Some of the heartbreaking defeats at the Tokyo Olympics 2020 are that of Mary Kom, Deepika Kumari and Indian men's hockey team.
