IPL 2023: Delhi Capitals wishes Rishabh Pant speedy recovery ahead of first home game

New Delhi, April 4: Delhi Capitals are set to play their first home match in Indian Premier League 2023. The team will lock horns with Gujarat Titans at Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi on Tuesday.

Delhi Capitals' regular skipper Rishabh Pant will watch his team play their first home match from the stands as he is unable to play this season owing to injuries received in a car accident last year. The Delhi Capitals players sent a special heartfelt greeting to Pant in a video posted by the IPL Twitter handle ahead of their match against the defending champions Gujarat Titans.

While Pant is recovering from his injury, his teammates prepared a short video wishing him a swift recovery and a quick return to the pitch.

Prithvi Shaw, a Delhi batter and Pant's close friend stated, "Rishabh, I hope you are recovering well, I am seeing your video; baby steps are coming now. Really happy to see you recover. We really miss you, recover soon and get back to the field with us. Love you. Take care buddy."

Bowling all-rounder Axar Patel said, "Today is your first home match, after 3-4 years we are playing in Delhi. I am seeing that you are recovering well. See you soon on the ground doing fun."

All-rounder Rovman Powell, who joined DC for INR 2.80 crore, expressed his delight after learning that Pant will attend the match.

"This is the first home game for us in IPL 2023 season, wish you (Rishabh Pant) all the best, hope you are recovering well. We know you are supporting us; we will do it for you my brother," Powell said.

The Delhi Capitals were defeated by the Lucknow Super Giants by 50 runs in their season opener at Ekana Cricket Stadium in Lucknow.
