The trailer shows Amu (Taapsee), seeking divorce after her husband (Pavail Gulati) slapped her in front of everyone at a party. The people around her consider the issue as normal and asked Amu to forgive her husband. However, Amu decides to fight back. While sharing the poster of film Thappad, Taapsee wrote: "Kya yeh bas itni si baat hai? Kya pyaar mein ye bhi jayaz hai? Yeh #Thappad Ki pehli Jhalak hai!"

The film features Taapsee Pannu and Pavail Gulati in the pivotal roles. Helmed by Anubhav Sushila Sinha and produced by Bhushan Sudesh Kumar, Krishan Krishna Kumar and Anubhav Sushila Sinha, Thappad is all set to release on February 28.
