BSF intercepts Pakistani drone near Amritsar border, apprehends smuggler with narcotics consignment
Amritsar, May 28: The Border Security Force (BSF) has successfully intercepted and shot down another drone near the India-Pakistan International Border (IB) in Punjab's Amritsar. During the operation, a smuggler was apprehended, and a significant consignment of narcotics was recovered.
The incident took place in the Dhanoe village of the Khurd district in Amritsar, where vigilant BSF personnel responded to a buzzing sound emitted by the drone around 9:35 pm yesterday.

After conducting a thorough search of the area, the troops discovered a DJI Matrice RTK 300 Quadcopter drone in the farming fields of Dhanoe village. The BSF personnel also noticed three individuals running towards the village and promptly apprehended one suspect carrying a bag containing three packets of suspected narcotics, with a combined weight of approximately 3.4 kg. The estimated value of the seized drugs is in crores. The consignment was found to have an iron hook and four luminous strips attached to it.

This successful operation by the BSF has once again thwarted a nefarious attempt by Pakistan to smuggle narcotics across the border. In a separate incident earlier, the BSF Punjab Frontier seized a suspected packet of heroin and shot down a drone along the Indo-Pak border in Amritsar.
